Various Thoughts

So, wearing a different hijab every day for a week was fun. Hope you enjoyed my pictures!

I’ve been working on my writing, slowly but surely. I had six chapters finished, then I changed events in chapter 3 which then everything else had to be changed as well. That’s alright though, because what I originally wrote didn’t really fir the character.

Eid al Adha is coming up soon, and I was hoping to make myself a fancy ribbon top to wear, but I probably won’t have time for that. Maybe something else, though.

I started re-reading ‘My Name is Red’ by Orhan Pamuk, it is so beautifully written. I’ love it. Though, to be honest, I did not like it when I tried to read it last year. For some reason I didn’t realize each chapter is narrated by a different character. So I set it aside for a while and finally went back to start over. I’m so glad I did.

Writing

In the last two days I did some writing, five chapters worth. Well, they’re short chapters, around 1,100 words. I love to write but haven’t for a long time, I missed it, it feels so good to be writing something again. It’s nothing spectacular, I admit, it’s fanfiction for the Vampire Diaries, but it’s something. And something is better than nothing.

I would love to someday write a book, I have started so many stories but never finished any before.

It just feels so good to me to just write something, anything. It’s one of the reasons I started this blog. I have another blog, for my sewing projects, but I don’t want to clutter that one up with other stuff, it’s specifically only for sewing related topics, mostly…I wanted to write again, about anything.
